No refund after cancellation of order
I placed an order for Dicksonia Antarctica in February costing £84.99 via PayPal. After 2 delays to delivery I finally received notification that delivery was delayed until July 2023. In September I decided to cancel the order. I received a prompt, same day reply saying that the amount would be refunded via PayPal. I have never received the refund.
I have followed up to query this and received no response.
I have complained again today and raised the issue with PayPal but, although I have previously used this company, I will not be doing so again. Total loss of confidence in them.
Shows a lack of desire to communicate with the customer.
Run by Branded Garden Products.
Following the reply from Van Meuwen I would further add that the one star is related to the difficulty I had getting my money refunded. You thought it had been and I was telling you I had not received it. The first message I sent about this was ignored completely. Anyone can make a mistake but ignoring a customer's difficulty is where you lost me.
The second message I sent was replied to but simply stated that I had been refunded. Only on my third attempt did I get a response agreeing that you had made a mistake. The money has now been refunded although minus the 5% discount I had on the item. This ignores the fact that I paid for an additional root treatment for the plant that I never received and quite frankly, you should have been offering me compensation for all the hours I had spend scouring my accounts to ensure that I had not missed this refund somehow.
So - you have lost a customer. Plenty of other reliable companies out there.
Excellent customer care
After a little difficulty with an order, I contacted Van Meuwen via their website. The response was very quick and very helpful.
Great all year round plant offers amazing garden membership vouchers
I have placed several orders this year and very happy with easy website ordering, great email offers, variety of plants and great offers, good packaging and delivery times and communication if delayed.
I recommend joining the garden club the vouchers are great and only £10 for year I saved more on first order. Superb collection of plants Korean fir, Atlantis sedum, mahonia, eucalyptus, fuschias, also great seed selection.

I purchased 15pcs of English lavender…
I purchased 15pcs of English lavender but only received 5 under Groupon. Also, the order for 3 pots of peony and 5 pcs if calculus is pending for two weeks but no news. I will not recommend to buy from this company anymore
Probably won't buy from again
Probably won't buy from again. Disappointing after planting a variety of lilies purchased from this company to find they have flowered different to their actual description. Lily 'Dizzy' and Lily 'Splendid Joy' along with Lily 'Delicate Joy' flowered completely different. Can't fault the quality of the bulbs as they all came into flower but how can so many be different.
Ignores emails.
Purchsed a Five-Plant Mini Fruit Tree…
Purchsed a Five-Plant Mini Fruit Tree Collection (Apple, Pear, Plum and Cherry) via groupon in December last year. The conference pear and plum tree have not budded and appear dead. All were bare root and planted on my allotment. Not pleased at all!
Replied to CS as requested by Lauren, and was asked to send photo. Photo sent. Asked by CS to perform a scratch test as the trees may be dormant (in July)? Scratch test shows brown cambium, indicating the trees are dead not dormant otherwise the cambium would be green.

Now ignoring emails, facebook messages.
Dreadful Communication
I placed an order for box plants on the 24th June 2022 ( advert promised delivery in a week) and my order tracking says that they were dispatched on the 27th June. It is nowJuly 9th and I have had no communication from this company. Order tracking states plants are in transit. They will be well and truly dead by the time I receive them.Very poor customer service.
I have used this compaany a few times…
I have used this compaany a few times now. The plants are generally in good condition when they arrive. They put transport netting round them so they are generally not dislodged if they are treated harshly by the courier. The size description of the plants is fairly accurate and any problems are quickly resolved by the company.
Another order placed quickly and easily…
Another order placed quickly and easily using Van Meuwen website, Unlike a competitor who has let me down both times on my orders.
Always quick and easy to use and never had a problem finding what i want .
Great selection of plants and always appear to be in stock when advetised.

This company are rogue traders search socials for reviews they are a disgrace and their customer service is the worst. Contact Trading Standards if you have issues with this company as the company is not interested after sales they are only interested in taking your money…BEWARE
Very pleased excellent.
I purchased several plants from
Van Meuwen some weeks ago. I had a couple of failures and when contacted by the company I said I was not 100% happy. Their response has been amazing not only replacing the failed plants but far more, way and above that which anyone could wish for and expect. I shall certainly be using them again. I would give them 6stars if I could

Disappointing Hanging baskets
After ordering 2 hanging baskets online what was promised and what came was not what I expected nor what I paid for.
In a word a total disgrace and to be honest I wouldn't expect a budget supermarket to sell , in fact I threw both hanging basket contents straight in the compost bin !
I spoke to a lovely young lady in customer services who apologised and offered me a full refund which I accepted BUT If Van Meuwen are going to sell plants online at least make its delivery service and packaging fit for purpose.
This is not the first time I have had plants delivered in a sorry state again only fit for the compost bin
Poor Quality Plug Plants
I brought 24 begonia plug plants on the 8th May. On delivery I re-potted them in John Innes No. 2 compost. As of today's date 27th May I have 5 left that look like they might survive, still very tiny though, The one's that died had no roots growing into the compost. The £5.99 postage is well over the top and these must be the tiniest plugs I have every seen.
Do your research before buying
I bought a 9 cm Caryopteris and perovskia both costing over £11. The pots did measure 9cmat the top but the depth of the pot was HALF the usual size which meant I received immature and weak plants. I could have bought cheaper or bigger for the same price. Moral of the story: do your research.
Always a great service.

I've been using them for a few years now and get nothing but good service at a great price. I ordered these petunias last Saturday and they arrived this Saturday in the morning. 72 really healthy plugs and as usual no fatalities. Well recommended.
